frequently asked questions
Where do I purchase tickets?
Advance sale online tickets are sold only at: greatblueheron.com or directly on Eventeny. Be aware of social media sites or posts about tickets for sale. We cannot guarantee any tickets purchased outside of this location. Don’t trust these sellers, unless you know them.
Can I volunteer instead of buying my ticket?
Absolutely! We need 600 volunteers to help the festival run smoothly. Fill out the volunteer application through our website.
Can I come to the festival for just one day?
Saturday & Sunday day passes are available online or at the gate. Parking for the day is free.
If you’re planning just to come Friday, here’s how that works: Pre-purchase a weekend pass through Eventeny or at the gate, then stop by HQ when you leave Friday evening for a partial refund. Final cost will be $120 + fees. You’ll need to use a credit card at time of purchase to facilitate the refund.
How many people can I camp with in one of the camping lots?
Vehicle camping sites can accommodate one vehicle or camper and/or a tent. Sites are 20x20ft. If your camper is larger than that, you will need to buy extra stickers. Every vehicle needs its own vehicle sticker, plus every person needs their own wristband. See the Festival map to explore the camping option locations. Walk-in woods camping is included in the ticket price and you don’t need to buy one of the camping lot tickets.
Can I upgrade my ticket for Thursday entry if I bought a Friday entry ticket?
Yes, but it’s best to do this before you arrive at the gate. Please email tickets@theheron.org. There is an additional $50 charge per person. Our ticket system will refund the original ticket and then charge the full price for the new ticket.
As a volunteer, can I arrive on Thursday?
Yes, all volunteers can arrive when the gate opens Thursday at 1pm. Some volunteers arrive Wednesday if they have shifts that require them to be here early. This will be communicated via Volunteer Coordinator or Crew Chief.
Are pets allowed during the festival?
No pets of any kind, please. Only service animals are permitted; owners must register at HQ upon arrival, maintain complete control of their animal at all times, and pick up after their animals. Please leave your pets at home, there can be a lot of stress on animals at a large music festival.
Will there be vendors?
Yes, there will be a full selection of food and craft vendors. The festival has its own Keg Room and Heron Merch booth, too.
There will be Blanket Vending on Saturday and Sunday from 10am-3pm. If you’d like to blanket vend, purchase regular admission tickets and arrive at 10am at the top of the hill with your wares. Pay the vendor coordinator $30/day or $50 for both days. Then set up your blanket of goods!
Please, no unauthorized vending. Thanks!
Is there ice & firewood to buy?
Yes! We have both ice & firewood for sale. Look for ice at HQ or the top of the hill by Dragon Run. Please don’t bring firewood with you. We collect our firewood from our forests and use the funds to support our sustainable forestry efforts. Thanks for helping! Consider sharing your campfire to reduce smoke and make more friends!
Can I bring my own alcohol?
Yes, but we ask that you support our Keg Room near David’s Stage as much as possible. They serve beer, wine, hard cider, wine slushies, and have non-alcoholic options as well. No glass containers, please!
Can I stay over until Monday?
Yes! You’ll need to purchase a Sunday Overnight ticket online or at the gate to stay over into Monday, each person needs their own ticket and will receive an additional wristband. Check out is 11am on Monday.
Can I reserve a campsite for the festival?
Unfortunately not, all sites are first come first serve. Your best bet is to purchase a 4 day ticket to arrive on Thursday to get first pick. We never run out of camping, there’s lots of sites in the Purple Lot.
Where do I park if I’m not staying overnight?
Day parking is in our Red Lot; no camping or sleeping is allowed in this lot. If you have a general admission weekend ticket, camping in the woods is included and parking is in the Red Lot as well. We have limited shuttle service from the Red Lot, so pack your gear well and use wheels!
If you would like to camp with your vehicle, you’ll need to purchase a Purple, Green, or Orange Vehicle Camping sticker, as well as your admission wristband. Your arrival day is determined by which wristband you purchase.
I’m handicapped and wondering about my options?
Be aware that our site is hilly with gravel or grass terrain. We do not allow patrons to bring their own golf carts or ATVs. Motorized handicap devices are ok.
We do not reserve camping spaces for patrons with disabilities. All sites are first come, first served. We recommend you purchase a 4 day Thursday-entry ticket for best selection.
Is there electricity in any of the camping areas?
There are no electric camping sites of any kind on the grounds. There are outlets at HQ and other places around the campground where you can charge up your phone.
What are the facilities like?
We have a new campground bathhouse as of 2026 with 4 hot showers and flush toilets. There is a $5 charge for each 5 minute shower.
We also have clean drinking water taps all over the campground and plenty of porta johns as well.
We advise you to arrive with water in your campers tank, as it blocks the flow of traffic to stop at spigots on the way to your spot to fill up.
We have a dump station available for RVs, the fee is $20.
Will there be fun things for my family to do?
Absolutely! The Kid’s Tent has a full schedule geared toward the younger kids and a separate Teen Tent for older kids. Plus there’s swimming at the beach – open specific hours when a certified Lifeguard is on Duty. There are instrument workshops, yoga, hiking and biking trails, Slyboots Circus big top, and plenty of open space for free play!
Is there internet service?
Wifi isn’t available to patrons. Cell service can be tricky. Texts are most likely to get through. There are so many people in one place using the same source. Be patient, please.
